Who Should Teach Your Kids About Money (Podcast)

Who Should Teach Your Kids About Money

In this episode, we’ll answer the question, “Who should teach your kids about money and personal finance?”  Some schools do have classes and courses that teach kids about this subject, but sometimes they aren’t teaching your kids the things that YOU want them to learn about money.  We’ll talk about how to talk to your kids about personal finance in age appropriate ways and how to help them build a solid foundation for money management that will support them into adulthood.

I like to think I have done a good job with teaching my kids about money – but who couldn’t use a little extra help?

I really think teaching children about finances early on is really beneficial to their over all growth.

My son needs a class on personal finance. yes, the parent should definitely, but I think it’s great to learn different ways of money management.

I think its important that parents teach kids about money and being financially responsible. But then some adults need to be taught also. LOL

I think it’s the parent’s job to teach our kids about money and finance. Hopefully we’re good role models!

My 5th grader just had reps from a bank in the area come into school and teach them about money. I thought that was a neat thing for them to learn from actual banking professionals.

I’ve been teaching my kiddos about money for some time now. I think they get it but answer all questions and still explain things as we go. Schools here didn’t teach them much!

I think this can be taught by parents and teachers. If both combine their efforts, kids will be financially literate

My kids are young but I’ve been teaching my older one about personal finance and it’s really been rewarding and interesting to see how she manages money.

I remember there being a class about this in my children’s high school. It was optional though.

It is crucial for kids to learn financial responsibility at a young age, and its the parent’s job to do that! Definitely a valuable skill to learn!

I definitely believe that it’s the parents job to make sure a child knows about money. No one taught me about college loans and I wish they would have.
